I love this piece, Sydney. I love the little dots you used, and the soft blending between the orange and green looks so good. You do such an excellent job of matching your colors so precisely; this looks just like a cantaloupe.
I agree with both of the above! The blending between the orange and green is realistic and soft and smooth, and your use of texture and contrast really shows a lot of growth! Keep up the awesome work, you're almost done! :)
Good work, Sydney. This is much stronger than what I have seen so far in terms of depth of color and I appreciate the time that you spent layering your media. I would recommend that you still develop this further by over emphasizing your darks and lights and even making some of the seeds much larger. Go for drama in this composition! What can you do with mark-making that will be truly exciting?
Syyyyd. The layering job is impeccable. I like the stippling, the painting, and everything else layered on top. It's very impressive. I would like to see you hint at juciness though. Go back in with lights maybe and make it look watery?
I like the stipling you put in on the orange part of the melon. maybe put some shines on the seeds or some parts of the melon just to give it, as philip said, juiciness. ;)
TEXTURE beautiful texture!!!! inside and out this is visualy stunning an shows supperlative growth. Contrast is wonderful as are the seeds.
